At only thirteen years old, Anna Morgan Michel built a reputation as a singer and songwriter with a versatile style that encompasses country, pop, jazz and gospel. Anna Morgan is a girl with a guitar, powerful voice and a heart full of songs. Anna Morgan started singing at age two and by the age of six she was already writing her own songs. Anna Morgan has her own deep, soulful style and has been performing for audiences at different venues all over the South.

This journey for Anna Morgan began after singing at an open house for a local business, she was hooked. She wants to spend her life making music and dreams of one day singing on stage at the Grand Ole Opry. Anna Morgan is excited for the opportunity to share her deeply moving music with you and bring a new twist to old hits. Anna Morgan’s strong Christian faith drives her to excel and she hopes her music touches the hearts and souls of her listeners.

I have a dream that one day I will be able to sing on the Grand Ole Opry Stage. I have a dream that one day I can touch lives with music. I have a dream that one day I can go to college at Belmont or Vanderbilt. I have a dream that I can get a scholarship to college. I have a dream that one day I will make it in the music business. I have a dream today. I have a dream that one day I can look back at my life and like what I see. This is my hope and faith. With this hope and faith, I will be able to change the way people look at me. Not as a girl, but as a girl who wishes to succeed. This will be the day when music is given a whole new meaning!!!!

Anna Morgan succeeded and got a scholarship to Belmont in Songwriting. Anna Morgan is currently a senior at MTSU and she lives in Nashville pursuing her dreams.

Fun fact: Under the stage name of Billy Folger, Anna Morgan’s great-great-uncle Cecil Smith co-wrote a song that was recorded by Hank Williams Sr. Her grandfather Willie Smith and Uncle Cecil played, had a radio show in Louisiana, and also put out a couple records. The music blood runs in the family.
